Joslyn Art Museum Teams up with Doodle 4 Google™ 2012
Joslyn Art Museum is excited to support Doodle 4 Google™ 2012 by encouraging students in Omaha and throughout Nebraska to participate and displaying the State Finalists’ doodles in a local exhibition later this year.

A key component of Joslyn's mission as a premier art museum is its work with young people across the region, offering programs that encourage understanding and appreciation of the visual arts, celebrating curiosity and creativity while connecting to the Museum's collections, exhibitions, building, and gardens. The national Doodle 4 Google competition, with its support of art and imagination, connects well with the Museum's work in art education and with K-12 students. Joslyn is delighted to be Doodle for Google's Nebraska partner, getting the word out about the competition and displaying the top doodles from Nebraska this summer.
Doodle 4 Google is one of several efforts by Google to encourage and celebrate the creativity of young people by asking students to create their own Google doodle. The theme this year is “If I could travel in time, I’d visit...” Doodle 4 Google gives students a blank canvas to harness their curiosity and imagine the past, present, and/or future anywhere in the world. After all doodles have been submitted to Google by March 23rd, a team of Googlers and then guest judges — such as Katy Perry, Phineas and Ferb creator and executive producer Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, and recording artist Jordin Sparks — will help choose the top doodles. Then on May 2nd, Google will give the final vote to you, and one winner from each grade group will be chosen by a public vote. First prize will be awarded to the winning doodler on May 17th, and their doodle will be showcased on google.com on May 18th.
